Chemical Peels

Get the youthful GLOW back to your skin!
Chemical peels can be used to improve skin tone, texture and clarity and to treat conditions such as acne, hyperpigmentation and fine lines and wrinkles. Here at Dermatology Institute of Southwest Florida we offer a variety of chemical peels with different acid strengths, designed to produce various degrees of exfoliation based on a patient's individual needs.

Salicylic acid 30% peel:
This Beta Hydroxy acid has the capability to penetrate the skin and remove impurities at the sebaceous follicle where most breakouts begin. It also gently removes dead skin cells to improve the overall look and feel of the skin. This peel offers great and expedient results to patients suffering from mild to moderate acne and can be preformed every 1-2 weeks.

Vitalize peel:
The Vitalize peel is our most popular skin peel due to its safe, predictable results and minimal downtime. The key to the vitalize peel is its unique formulation 3 key ingredients including: lactic acid, resorcinol, and salicylic acid. These mild acids produce a consistent and well tolerated peel that can be used for ALL skin types. This peel can be customized and enhanced with a leave on retinol that is powerful yet tolerable and can boost results. The Vitalize peel is used to treat sun damaged skin, pigmentary abnormalities, superficial acne scarring and fine lines and wrinkles. The best results are seen within 3 treatments done at intervals of 3-4 weeks.

What to expect:

A rosy glow will be present for 1-3 days after your treatment. After the first 48-60 hours after peel your skin may begin to flake or peel. This typically lasts for 1-3 days. During this time we encourage our patients to avoid picking or peeling skin and instead moisturize the skin consistently.

Rejuvinize peel
:
The Rejuvinize peel is the deepest peel we offer at our practice. It can be used for moderate to severe conditions of the skin including sun damage, lines and wrinkles, acne, acne scarring and melasma. The key ingredient to this peel is an acid known as Isoceteth which can penetrate deeply within the skin and target pigmentation. This peel can also be customized to accommodate a patients particular needs by doing 2-3 passes and adding a leave on retinol at the end of the treatment to enhance results. To achieve the best results possible, this peel should be done in a series of 3 treatments at intervals of 4-6 weeks.
